Low-code is real software (and should be treated that way)

People still hear "low-code" and picture toy apps built in an afternoon. In practice, the Power Platform solutions running inside a finance company carry real weight: money moves, compliance is watching, and downtime is expensive.

That means the boring engineering disciplines still apply. Environments are separated. Solutions are versioned and exported, not clicked together in production. Naming is consistent. Every automation has an owner and a rollback story.

The payoff is speed without fragility. When a back-office process changes on a Friday afternoon, I can adjust the flow, test it in a lower environment, and promote it — without pretending the tool is magic that never breaks.

The mindset I keep coming back to: low-code changes who can build, not whether the thing you built deserves to be trusted.
